Lakeside Plastics has been in business for over 30 years. We supply plastic injection molded components and sub assemblies to the Automotive industry. We operate 2 Production Plants and a Distribution Centre in Oldcastle. (Across from the Ciociaro Club)

Part of our success comes from our ability to quickly respond to our Customer’s needs. We operate our business using Lean principles. We are very disciplined and organized. We are driven to continuously improve every thing we do. We use very progressive problem solving systems, techniques and proven procedures.

Our ERP operating system CMS runs on an IBM AS/ 400 platform. Our Servers manage all other aspects of data storage and communication from the office to the shop floor.

We manage 400 shippable parts that go to 50+ ship-to locations. As a Tier 1, our parts go directly to major assembly plants. We also act as a Tier 2 to support other Tier 1 Customers.

Title of position:                A/P Analyst

Scope of responsibilities:

*       This position shall have the overall responsibilities for the collection of all accounts payables. Also involved is the maintenance of cash flow charts.

Key duties: (not limited as outlined)

*       Collection of accounts payable

*       Backup for purchasing and ordering of material

*       Inputting A/P, posting cheques to computer

*       Computer cheque runs

*       Recording cheque deposits on cash flow

Scope of responsibilities:     

*       Manage all supplier quality activities including PPAP, sorting, supplier sorts, CARs, etc.

*       Participate in supplier selection, access supplier suitability

*       Conduct regular supplier audits

*       Manage supplier corrective action and continuous improvement activities, and any Quality issues

*       Maintain approved supplier list

Title of position:                Dimensional Engineer

Scope of responsibilities:           

*       Responsible for all aspects of gauge development, procurement and certification as well as part layouts for PPAP and annual revalidation (Of gauges and parts).

*       Responsible for performing/maintaining internal calibration records in compliance with quality system requirements.

*       Responsible for maintaining master blue print files, monitoring SPC results and executing engineering change layouts/ reports.

*       Responsible for communicating with Engineering and Customers regarding new and current programs, engineering changes, corrective actions and customer concerns primarily regarding dimensional issues.

*       Create part programs for CMM layouts using PC DMIS

*       Perform layouts and produce dimensional reports

*       Summarize and review dimensional issues with Program Manager, Quality Engineer, Designer and/or Customers

*       Maintain master blue print files complete with dimensional referencing (Ballooning)

*       Ensure adequate dimensional layouts are in place for all master blue prints on file

*       Revise, repair and maintain all gauges

*       Perform and analyze gauge R&R studies

*       Perform and analyze capability studies

*       Oversee, train, direct and review SPC data for all parts

*       Assist with product trouble shooting by providing dimensional analysis support

*       Conduct Engineering Change related duties relative to layouts, gauges and documentation thereof

*       Develop datum schemes, gauge concepts and procure gauges in collaboration with Customer representatives

Education required:

*       Community College diploma in technology with courses in Metrology and GD&T.  Preference will be given to candidates possessing combined qualifications in the areas of gauge development and procurement, CMM inspection, optical comparator inspection, SPC analysis, dimensional analysis for root cause troubleshooting, MSA and knowledge of current quality system requirements. 

*       Thorough knowledge of automotive quality standards.

Experience required:

*       Minimum of three years experience in a metrology capacity with demonstrated experience in gauge development, GD&T, SPC and layout inspections (Knowledge of PC DMIS is required).

*       Must have strong metrology experience in the area of PPAP requirements and part function trouble shooting in and injection molding/ light assembly environment.

Scope of responsibilities:                 

*       Develop and maintain control plans and FMEA’s for all new and current programs

*       Leading a cross-functional team to investigate quality issues and recommend technical solutions

*       Follow up on crucial engineering change activities to ensure ECN’s are processed seamlessly

*       Ensure great customer relations are developed and maintained

*       Clearly and consistently communicate customer expectations to the Organization

Key duties: (not limited as outlined)

*       Lead/ coordinate cross-functional APQP teams on product launches, apply lessons learned to continuously improve APQP process

*       Lead/coordinate and supervise Quality Control activities across 3 shifts at all plants

*       Provide written technical responses to customers on quality issues.

*       Liaison with Customers during visits, builds, run at rates, PPAP activities, process/ system audits, and APQP/ PDT meetings.

*       Track and resolve open issues pertaining to new product launches, develop control documents and other Customer required quality documentation. 

*       Perform Quality-Engineering activities for internal issues. (e.g. problem solving, process audits, internal auditing, etc.).

*       Responsible for internal systems audit.

*       Liaison with Customers on quality issues, travel to customer location to orchestrate sorts, confirm issues and conduct investigation.

Education required:

Experience required:

*       Minimum of five years experience in Quality capacity with at least two years in a Q.E. role.

*       Demonstrated ability to lead APQP Process in an automotive assembly environment.

*       Good current working knowledge of AIAG standards (PQP, PPAP & PFMEA especially).

*       Experience interacting with automotive assembly plants would be considered an asset.

*       Q.S. Lead Auditor accreditation.
